I am trying to connect to a console port on an ASIC Miner Unit (Spondoolies SP10) which has an RJ11-6P Port. From what I’ve been able to research about the configuration of the port, Pin 2 – Tx, Pin 3 – Rx, Pin 5 – Gnd.
In order to connect to this, I have an RJ11 6P Jumper going to an RJ11/12 F to DB9 M adapter, wired Tx > Rx and vice versa for the RS-232 pinout, connected with a db9 (M/M) jumper, into a PL2303 (TA) RS232M to USB 2.0 Adapter.
The miner uses 3.3v logic, works at a 115200 baud rate, has no flow control (HW or SW) and has an 8/1 bit configuration, and the chip in the USB to Serial Adapter can work at either 3.3v or 5v. As of yet, however, I’ve been largely unsuccessful in getting anything on the console. Am I missing something in this configuration, or do I just need to grab a voltmeter and start checking ports?
