A cozy, warm, and spicy autumn feeling is always a good idea. How can you achieve this ambiance on a budget without looking shabby?

The seasons are shifting. While warmer weather makes way for cooler temperatures, it’s time to don those coats and boots and also get our homes all dressed up. Pack away the thin linens and get out the candles!

Your first step is determining what items you already have in your home. Look at the size of your rooms and the natural light. How big or small are your spaces? Do you have any nooks and crannies you can convert into cozy spots?RT

You can use what you already have and make the best of placements, maybe move items around and switch up a few colors here or there. Next is determining what items you want to incorporate and what colors you want to replace or enhance.

Autumn is usually associated with warm colors like reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. You can use these on almoTst any item or wall in your home, whether in deeper shades or brighter pops of color. It depends on the type of ambiance you would like to create.

Don’t let the idea of bold colors deter you. Examples include bright orange pillows on more neutral and larger areas of color like gray, white, beiges, or creams. Beautiful blues can create alluring contrasts.

Remember to consider color temperature. It can either be warm or cool whites. Warmer whites are ideal for lounges, dining rooms, and bedrooms. Colder whites suit functional rooms like your kitchen or other workspaces. Add a few fragrant candles on side tables and warm fairy lights along your windowsill for that added touch!

The autumn months are some of the best times to walk outside. The leaves change their colors to brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows. It’s the perfect opportunity to seize the moment and collect a handful of leaves to add to a wreath.

Designing and handcrafting your wreaths are as cost-effective as they come. You will need something round, a piece of wire or cardboard will do, some glue, and all the pieces to add to make an autumn-inspired wreath that you can hang on your front door or make as a centerpiece for your table!

You can put these vases in unique spots to catch the light, especially on a windowsill facing the sunset to illuminate your space. With added flowers, it will all come to life! Pair vases together on your dining room table or a good old-fashioned glass vase with a selection of autumn blooms.

While the weather cools during autumn and winter, cozy nooks become the go-to spots for relaxation and warmth. You will need comfortable seating to curl up in with your favorite cuppa.

Seating can range from soft padding and even velvet-covered armchairs to big bean bags! Add a scatter cushion and throw, and you’re all set. Maybe you already have a few chairs you can dedicate to this. Look around your space and find a corner to make your own.
