13 Cars With the Most Luxurious Interiors

A car’s interior is as important as its exterior. Perhaps even more so, since this is where we’ll actually spend our time when driving it.

For maximum grandeur and opulence, we’ll turn to luxury carmakers. They know a thing or two about making a car’s occupants feel special, surrounding them with exclusive and expensive materials and tech we didn’t even know existed.

Enjoy your finest Dominican cigar and a glass of Glenfiddich as we look at some of the most luxurious car interiors on the market right now.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

No one does luxury quite like Rolls-Royce, and the Phantom may just be the epitome of style and wealth. It has a quiet engine and soft suspension, and thanks to a well-insulated cabin and plush seats, its comfort is unmatched.

There’s a rear privacy glass and curtains when the owner wants to enjoy the silence and not deal with the surrounding world. In true Rolls-Royce fashion, there are also Bespoke services, which let the owner customize the Phantom’s interior to make it truly unique.

Bentley Flying Spur

Bentley is another British luxury carmaker that can supply wealthy buyers with all the luxury and opulence they’ll ever want. The handbuilt Flying Spur is Bentley’s flagship sedan, and, as expected, it comes loaded with top-of-the-line materials and technology.

Obviously, we find premium leather, high-quality aluminum, and natural wood. In fact, the Flying Spur Odyssean Edition has open-pore koa wood, a piano linen console, tweed panels, and a three-color hide combination. In addition, all Flying Spurs have extensive customization options, and there’s an optional rotating 12.3-inch display and a touchscreen remote that lets rear-seat occupants control multiple systems.

Rolls-Royce Spectre

We’ll stay with the Brits for a bit longer because they really know how to make wealthy car buyers feel special. Perhaps it’s all the old money and aristocracy? The Rolls-Royce Spectre is a full-size, ultra-luxurious electric grand tourer and Rolls-Royce’s first EV.

Being an EV, the interior is as quiet as we’ve come to expect from RR, but here, the owner is behind the wheel rather than the backseat. It has a thick, plush carpet, premium leather, and plenty of customization options.

Rolls-Royce Ghost

While the Rolls-Royce Ghost isn’t as luxurious as the Phantom flagship model, it still offers more luxury than you can shake a stick at. It’s built on the same platform as the Phantom, but even the Long Wheelbase version is slightly shorter than its more luxurious sibling.

The interior is more detailed than that of its predecessor. It is now available with the “Starlight headliner,” which was previously limited to only the Phantom cars, and buyers can get a personalized choice of constellations. Thanks to the four-way climate zone and heated front and rear seats, passengers can travel comfortably no matter the outside temperature.

German carmakers, especially Mercedes and its Maybach division, also have a rough idea of what goes into a proper luxury car.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is a large and opulent SUV that can certainly rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley in terms of luxury. By opting for a four-seat arrangement rather than three-row seating, all the passengers get reclining, massaging, and heated leather seats. It also has a cabin atomizer that lets its occupants breathe pleasant fragrances instead of the same air as us commoners.

Another SUV wealthy people can consider is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. It’s the perfect vehicle for those who enjoy a drink while they’re on the road — they obviously have a chauffeur.

Buyers can choose a whiskey decanter or a champagne chiller, with matching glasses, to be installed between the massaging rear seats. There are also Bespoke Viewing seats and a picnic table in the luggage compartment.

Mercedes-Maybach S Class

The Mercedes S-Class has always been one of the most luxurious vehicles on the road, but now they’ve kicked it up a notch by adding the Maybach name.

Mercedes’s sedan is targeted towards the same customers as the Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Phantom, which should tell you the level of luxury we’re looking at here. The interior is an ocean of leather, with massaging rear seats that look more comfortable than a day at the spa and 64-way ambient lighting.

BMW 7 Series

Not wanting to be outdone, BMW also offers a full-size luxury flagship sedan. For a long time, the Bavarians focused more on the driver than the passengers, but these days, they prove that you can have your cake and eat it, too.

It still drives like a Bimmer should, but the passengers get to enjoy the ride from the comfort of multifunctioning and massaging leather seats. Even the backseat reclines, so just close your eyes and enjoy the tunes from the premium Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System.

Bentley Continental GT

Bentley’s Continental GT has a very fitting name. This grand tourer lets you cross continents in the utmost style and comfort, thanks to its supercar-like power and luxurious interior.

Here, you’ll find Alcantara and carbon fiber practically everywhere. It’s not for everyone, but one-percenters with a penchant for speed will like the Continental GT’s performance-inspired interior. It also has near-limitless customization options for those who want to truly make it their own.

Bentley Bentayga

If a GT car is too impractical, don’t worry, Bentley still has something for you. The Bentayga is one of the most luxurious models on the market right now.

It’s possible to order it with hand-stitched leather bucket seats front and rear, so buyers won’t have to give up sportiness just to drive an SUV. For those times when you have to leave the mansion and garden behind to travel to the city, the Bentayga has an advanced air filtration system that optimizes air quality.

Land Rover Range Rover

Land Rover is the vehicle of choice for British aristocrats and soccer players, and looking at the latest Range Rover, it’s easy to see why. It has everything the posh elites could ever desire.

Up to seven passengers can fit inside, and they’ll be encapsulated by wood and fine leather. An optional refrigerator will keep the champagne chilled in case you need a drink while being chauffeured through the countryside.

Porsche Panamera Turbo S Executive

Porsche is best known for its sports cars, and while they use top-notch materials, these models aren’t necessarily luxurious. However, Porsche has a model for those who prefer to sit in the backseat, too.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S Executive has the unmistakable Porsche look, but the interior is spacious and relaxing. Even the rear seats have side bolsters that hug the passengers on twisty roads — clearly, this is a model made for jet-setters who have places to be. That’s also evidenced by the rear center console, which has plenty of charging capacity and storage space.

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten that Americans also make luxury vehicles. For decades, Cadillac’s version of luxury was to just make everything bigger and plusher. In modern times, they’ve adopted a more German approach to luxury, but bigger is still better.

We can’t think of a more American approach to luxury than fitting a massive 38-inch curved OLED touchscreen and a fridge-freezer with space for enough bottles to keep the party going all night.
