This Lexus Is So Luxurious; It Comes With a Built–in Pizza Oven

Have you ever been cruising around in your luxurious Lexus SUV and suddenly been overcome by a strong hankering for oven–baked pizza? If this sounds like you, you’re in luck. Lexus has teamed up with luxury appliance company Monogram to create a unique concept car for people who love wine, spirits, and pizza ovens so much that they are literally part of the car.

Tailgating out of the back of a pickup truck with ice chests full of beer and cheap chicken wings? Yawn. That’s boring and unoriginal. Busting out a pizza oven along with a wine and spirits bar? That’s unique, stylish, and classy. That’s how you get the party started in 2024.

To celebrate the all–new 2024 Lexus GX, the prestige automaker decided to team up with the luxury appliance maker to create a bespoke vehicle that marries the height of culinary decadence with the pinnacle of automotive prestige. If you’re going to indulge in something, you might as well overindulge it. Why not? Who doesn’t love chowing down on a delicious pizza in their luxury SUV?

For those who enjoy a side of highfalutin explanations with their outrageous road toys, Lexus vice president of marketing, Cynthia Tenhouse, issued a statement that only a marketing department would cook up, “Our all–new Lexus GX was designed to highlight the unique duality of luxury and off–roading capability, enabling our guests to create amazing experiences on the road.”

But that wasn’t the only tasty corporate morsel in the press release; Tenhouse added, “Together with Monogram, Lexus is taking the GX experience to a new level, where road adventures meet culinary experiences.” Bon appétit.

Elevation Through Decadence

But don’t just take Lexus’ word for it. Julie Burns, the executive director for Monogram Appliances, also served up an equally palatable slice of PR for this glorified artisanal pizza stand on wheels.

She said, “This unique pairing of unexpected luxury cooking while away from home is created with signature pieces from Monogram that elevate the everyday. The Monogram GX puts an entirely new spin on the road trip experience with a crafted, culinary journey.”

A Story of “Materiality and Entertainment”

Creative inspiration takes many forms, not the least of which is corporations with deep pockets looking to cook up a savory marketing gimmick to serve the masses with a heaping portion of brand awareness. Hence why Monogram’s creative director and celebrated interior designer, Richard T. Anuszkiewicz, saw this opportunity to collaborate with Lexus as a chance to showcase “a story on materiality entertainment.”

Anuszkiewicz, with help from Monogram’s industrial design team, sought to “further heighten” the GX’s “refined style and proportions” with an imitation wood–fired brick pizza oven. SUVs are rectangular, and so are pizza ovens. It all makes sense.

Design Flourishes

Anuszkiewicz and his team took additional stylistic cues from Monogram’s Designer Collection. They gave the Monogram GX a patterned interior featuring two–toned camel leather with an emphasis on brass and titanium. The singular concept car’s interior also features Dekton slate stone accents, as well as exterior detailing that underscores custom rims.

After determining their final designs, Anuszkiewicz and his team had the folks at Complete Customs bring this “one–of–a–kind showpiece” to life. It’s worth noting that since this is a concept vehicle, modified with non–Lexus parts, the GX’s initial warranty is likely voided. The press release notes that with these additional parts, the car itself may not be street–legal or safe.

Specialty Features

Making its official debut at the Food & Wine Classic from June 14–16 in Aspen, Colorado, there’s no word yet if the Monogram GX will be serving pizza at the event. However, we do know that this unique concept car will be showing off its specialty features.

Among the specialty features is the Monogram 30″ Smart Flush Hearth Oven, a handcrafted electric hearth oven that mimics the performance of a wood fire brick oven. It can bake pizza, fresh–caught roasted branzino, or soft bread artisanal bread.

The Monogram GX also features the only heated ice press in the United States. It’s a “showstopping piece” that can chill spirits with a sphere it creates. It also features exterior wine and bourbon storage, chilling compartments, and a station of wine and spirits bar. As over–the–top as it may be, we think it’s safe to say that the Monogram GX is a concept car that deserves a chef’s kiss.
